This is for an upcoming book. It has a lot of elements that I think of as being typical of my style; Its detailed and dark with contrasting forms. When I did this book I tried to do what Arthur Rackham did in A Midsummer's Night Dream, He pulled a line from the play almost out of context and illustrated that line. My stuff's been too light lately I think I'll darken things up a bit.

Eric Eric Eric. How did you ever get this good? If I'd known when I first met you I'd be looking at paintings like this years down the road I probably would've been too shy to talk to you!
It's BEAUTIFUL! I love the loose feather amongst the beating wings, and I agree: go dark. Your style lends itself so well to darkness. Great work!
It is beautiful! Lucky book.
(I popped over from Zach's blog.)
Thanks Brenda, I too am a world renowned bog walker.
You definitely do dark very nicely! The owl eyes create a great mood of something more going on.
And yes, you can add my link, and I'll add yours too.

Ah, I love it, such great painterly work, and the detailed composition makes my head hurt (in a nice way!) Keep up the darkness.

This really is a lovely, moody, atmospheric piece. I love the graphic-ness of the feathers and wing shapes. Cool!
