Pig and Wizard

Here's another piece from an upcoming book. I think that it was while I was doing this piece I really began to be influenced by medieval manuscripts. My work got smaller and more detailed and a little bit flatter. I felt like I had a style after this and have been developing it and playing with it since.

Absolutely hands-down one of my all time favorites. The colors in this one are amazing. The picture doesn't do it justice, but looking at the actual painting gives you this amazing sensation of cold and wind... stunning!

The sky is pretty darn spectacular in this one. Is that manuscript inspired? I don't recall that kind of stylization in any that I'm familiar with.

I don't remember what I was looking at that inspired the sky. It was probably something victorian. An Arthur Rackham picture maybe?

Thanks Manelle and Annie, the work that people seem to respond to most are these small deailed pieces. I enjoy doing these the most so I feel I'm on the right track.
